From the Dean: COVID reporting

As we are seeing an increase in COVID cases, questions are arising about reporting. It is not necessary for anyone (students, faculty, or staff members) to report a positive test for COVID. The only thing that needs to be reported is when an instructor (faculty member, graduate student, part-time faculty member) cannot teach a face-to-face class as scheduled due to having COVID and needing to isolate.

In that case, we are required to notify the Office of the Vice President for Instruction if the change is to an online format (synchronous or asynchronous). To do this, the instructor should let the department head know which class, how many class periods, and what the plan is. If the class will be covered by someone else, we do not need to report that.

For information about isolation, please visit the CDC website.
