2023-24 UGA faculty awards
The UGA Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost and the Office of Research encourage nominations of outstanding faculty for the following 2023–24 internal faculty awards. The awards are listed chronologically by nomination deadline:
- University of Georgia Award for Excellence in Teaching (Wednesday, Oct. 25)
- Richard B. Russell Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (Wednesday, Oct. 25)
- Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorships (Wednesday, Oct. 25)
- University Professorships (Wednesday, Oct. 25)
- Early Career Scholar Awards (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Creative Research Medals (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Creative Research Awards (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Non-Tenure Track Faculty Research Excellence Award (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Research Communications Award (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Team Impact Award (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Regents’ Entrepreneur Designation (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
- Distinguished Research Professorships (Wednesday, Nov. 1)
For full information on the nominations criteria and procedures for each award, please see the guidelines linked in the award descriptions. Note that the eligibility requirements for the Meigs Professorship have been clarified as this award is intended to recognize the instructional achievements of senior faculty (i.e., those with 10 or more years as tenure-track faculty), while the Russell Award remains focused on the accomplishments of faculty earlier in their career (i.e., those with 3-10 years as tenure-track faculty).
