College students, staff receive awards at BFSO Luncheon

Students and staff members in the Mary Frances Early College of Education received recognition at the Black Faculty Staff Organization’s 21st Founders Scholarship Celebration and 19th BFSO Luncheon.

Jessica Moore (B.S.Ed. ’17, Ph.D. ’26), a doctoral student in counseling psychology, received one of two scholarships awarded to graduate students. Ashley Ellis (M.Ed. ’25), a graduate student in lifelong learning, organization, and development, received the Melanie A. Burden Community Award.

Staff members in the College also received received three of the four Ed Wilker Memorial Egalitarian Awards:

  • Tammy Barrow, Building Services
  • Kate Character, Office of Academic Programs
  • Julian Williams, Office of Undergraduate Advising

Kajder named to 2023-24 Women’s Leadership Fellows Program

Sara Kajder, clinical professor and director of clinical practice in the Department of Language and Literacy Education and the Office of Clinical Practice, was named a 2023-24 Women’s Leadership Fellow.

The program brings together faculty and administrators across the University of Georgia to further cultivate leadership skills and discuss issues women experience in academic administration.
