Xiaoming Zhai, an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education, was referenced in an article from the journal Nature titled “Will ChatGPT Give Us a Lesson in Education?”
The article cites his research into AI models like ChatGPT in science education and his belief that teachers can benefit from these models as teaching aids. Zhai said that use of ChatGPT to automate basic tasks like summarizing content and creating personalized lesson plans enables both students and teachers to “focus more on creative thinking.”
