Open enrollment for 2024 benefits ends Nov. 3

Open enrollment happens once a year for eligible faculty, staff, and retirees to sign up for health insurance and other benefits as well as to make adjustments to their current plans or discontinue coverage. This year’s University System of Georgia (USG) benefits open enrollment will be held Oct. 23 -Nov. 3.

What is changing?

  • Healthcare plan designs: There will be changes to all USG healthcare plans, including deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, coinsurance and copays.
  • Healthcare premiums: Employee healthcare and dental plan premiums will increase. Premiums can be found in the comparison guide or on OneUSG Connect Benefits beginning Monday, Oct. 23.
    • Employee premiums will increase by 6.9% in the Consumer Choice HSA and Comprehensive Care Plans, 10.9% in the BlueChoice HMO plan, and 10% in the Kaiser Permanente HMO plan.
    • Employer premiums will increase between 9.4% and 10.9% in the Consumer Choice HSA, Comprehensive Care, and BlueChoice HMO plans, and 5.3% in the Kaiser Permanente HMO plan.

For all employees who are enrolled in a USG healthcare plan:

  • The Well-Being Program will have a renewed focus on your health! The earnings period is Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2024 and will be provided through your USG healthcare plan. A well-being credit of up to $100 in gift cards will be available to covered employees and their spouses for completing well-being activities.
  • Weight loss support will be offered through WeightWatchers ®.

For all employees who are enrolled in a USG Anthem healthcare plan:

  • Customer service and healthcare support currently provided by Accolade will now be provided through Anthem’s Total Health, Total You program.
  • Diabetes management support currently provided through Livongo will now be provided through your healthcare plan.

Take action! Surcharge certification required:

If you are enrolled in healthcare coverage, you must certify your tobacco use and working spouse status, or the monthly surcharges will apply.
