Supporting new teachers in CCSD: Explore partnerships and learn about induction initiatives

  • Date: Tuesday, Dec. 12
  • Time: 10-11 a.m.
  • Location: Aderhold Hall Room 626

Currently, 36% of Clarke County School District’s workforce is in the induction phase of their career (first three years) and over a fifth of those teachers are alternatively certified or teaching out of their field. While this poses challenges for teachers and school leaders, it is also an opportunity for CCSD to partner with Mary Frances Early College of Education faculty to provide robust support for the next generation of teachers.

If you are interested in supporting induction teachers in CCSD, please join us to learn about current initiatives and next steps. Christopher Pendley, leader of the CCSD induction support team, will join us to explore possibilities. The team currently includes faculty in English education, middle grades education, social studies education, and the Office of Clinical Practice.

Please indicate your interest in supporting CCSD induction teachers and direct any questions to Amy Murphy or Sara Kajder.
