Vote on update to College bylaws and university-level elections
- Voting deadline: Tuesday, Dec. 5
Presently, the Mary Frances Early College of Education bylaws state that the Faculty Senate has the responsibility to run elections for university-level committees. In the other schools and colleges at UGA, elections for university-level committees are run by their respective Dean’s Offices. This also includes the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, the only other college with a Faculty Senate. This proposed change allows for consistency across campus in how elections are administered for university-level committees.
The Faculty Senate met on Tuesday, Nov. 14 and unanimously voted in support of the proposed language. This proposed change now goes to the entire faculty in the College as it is an update to the bylaws.
Please cast your vote on whether the Mary Frances Early College of Education should amend its bylaws to the proposed language, allowing the Dean’s Office to run elections for university-level committees, by the end of the day on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
