From assistant dean Camille Reynolds: Thank you

I want to thank everyone in the Mary Frances Early College of Education for their well wishes as my family and I transition to Chicago. It has been a great pleasure serving as the assistant dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion and working closely with our wonderful faculty, staff, and students across the College. In light of national attention to higher education over the past year, I am glad to see that the Dean’s Office has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the DEI Office after my departure.

As a show of support, the DEI Office would like to announce a special session in February to honor Black History Month and the DEI Conference. Please join us on Thursday, February 15 at 6 p.m. for a special DEI DawgTalk with Imani Barbarin. Imani is a public speaker and disability rights advocate who will join the College to discuss social media advocacy and addressing the erased histories of marginalized communities. I would also like to personally thank the DEI Conference committee for their recommendation of our guest speaker and their valued contributions in organizing this session. Promotional information and the registration link will be circulated through COEfyi, COE Connection, and social media.

Best,

Camille Reynolds
Assistant dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion
