Giordano receives Garry R. Walz Trailblazer Award
Amanda Giordano, an associate professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Services, will receive the Garry R. Walz Trailblazer Award from the American Counseling Association at its conference in New Orleans this year.
This award is given to a counselor “whose vision, passion, and leadership skills help advance the counseling profession and encourage others to do the same.”
Tolley receives Thank-a-Teacher note from student
For the last 15 years, UGA’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has organized the Thank-a-Teacher program, which allows students to write notes to professors and teaching assistants who have made an impact on their college experience.
Beth Tolley, a clinical professor in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice, received a thank-you note from student Madison Filer, who took her course, EDEL 5460: Student Teaching in Elementary Education.
The CTL collects and shares hundreds of thank you notes with teachers each year, and in 2023, they received a total of 1,248 notes.
Read the thank-you note on the UGA Office of Instruction website.
