Kudos: Student receives W. Geiger Ellis Award; Barany awarded Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grant

English education student receives W. Geiger Ellis Award at GCTE

English education student and teacher candidate Chiqui Benton (B.S.Ed. ’24) was awarded the prestigious 2024 W. Geiger Ellis Teacher Candidate Award at the Georgia Council of Teachers of English’s annual conference. This award recognizes and springboards outstanding preservice teachers in Georgia. The program faculty of English education celebrate Benton and are incredibly proud of all she continues to accomplish.


Barany awarded Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grant

Deborah Barany, an assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, was awarded a Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grant as part of the research team for the project “Healing and Empowerment after Limb Loss in XR.”

Members of her research team include:
