Ferster named 2024 Service-Learning Fellow
Amanda Ferster, a senior lecturer in the Department of Educational Psychology, is one of 10 Service-Learning Fellows in the 2024-25 cohort.
Established in 2006, the program’s participants create service-learning projects to address issues in the local community. Ferster’s project proposal is a quantitative methods course that would pair students with a community partner in education to solve real-world problems.

Fields-Smith named 2024 Women’s Leadership Fellow
Cheryl Fields-Smith, a professor in the Department of Educational Theory and Practice, is one of 10 Women’s Leadership Fellows in the 2024-25 cohort.
Created in 2015 as part of UGA’s Women’s Leadership Initiative, the program centers on issues faced by women in academic administration and fosters development of fellows’ leadership skills. The program holds monthly meetings as well as visits from senior administrators on campus and guest speakers across industries.
