Media mention: Doctoral student's project featured in the Red & Black
Eunkyoung Elaine Cha, a doctoral student in the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s learning, design, and technology program, was featured in the Red & Black for her research on virtual reality (VR) and language learning.
With the goal of reducing anxiety around language learning, Cha collaborated with faculty and students in the College and used a VR program called Immerse to develop her project.
“That kind of environment, like virtual reality with avatars, not like face to face, really helps alleviate [that] anxiety because you can just hide behind those avatars,” Cha said.
