Register for fire safety and extinguisher training on April 29

  • Date: Tuesday, April 29
  • Time: 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Location: Aderhold Hall Room G14 (register today)

Many of us know, in theory, how to operate a fire extinguisher, but have you actually used one?

  • Are you confident you could use a fire extinguisher in an emergency?
  • Do you check the expiration date of the one you have at home? Do you have one at home? Is it tucked away under the kitchen sink in case of an emergency?
  • Do the words ABC, CO2, Halotron, or K-Class mean anything to you?

If you answered no to any of these questions, you are invited to join UGA’s Environmental Safety Division as they offer a session on fire safety followed by fire extinguisher training on the lawn. This is a great opportunity to refresh your fire safety awareness and get some hands-on training so that in the event of an emergency, you will feel better prepared.

This session is limited but if interest exceeds availability, we will schedule a second session.
