Kudos: Faison receives 2024-25 Community Partner of the Year Award

In recognition of her outstanding contributions as a UGA Mary Frances Early College of Education partner, Morgan Faison, clinical associate professor in the Department of Education Theory and Practice, was named the 2024-2025 Community Partner of the Year by the Athens Community Career Academy (ACCA).

ACCA provides career-focused pathways and college-level courses in a unique and innovative environment for high school students in the Clarke County School District. The Community Partner of the Year award reflects the transformative power of meaningful, ongoing collaborations between universities, community members, and schools to achieve shared goals that benefit students and staff and positively impact local educational programs.

“I am deeply grateful for this special recognition from ACCA. Over the last eight years, our partnership has evolved and flourished in ways that were unimaginable at the outset,” Faison said. “Of all our accomplishments, I am most proud of the ways we are successfully developing homegrown teaching talent through our Teaching as a Profession high school pathway. We have 23 future educators starting this fall!”
