College welcomes four new department heads

The Mary Frances Early College of Education welcomes four new department heads on Friday, Aug. 1.

  • Robert Branch, professor of learning, design, and technology, will serve as department head of the Department of Workforce Education and Instructional Technology. He follows Lloyd Rieber, who served as department head for six years.
  • Kevin Burke, professor of English education, will serve as department head of the Department of Language and Literacy Education. He follows Allison Nealy, who served as department head for six years.
  • Cheryl Fields-Smith, professor of elementary education, will serve as department head of the Department of Educational Theory and Practice. She follows Julie Kittleson, who served as department head for four years.
  • Lloyd Rieber, professor of learning, design, and technology, will serve as department head of the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education. Rieber follows Bethany Hamilton-Jones, who served as department head for four years.
