UGA Public Service & Outreach call for faculty award nominations

Since 1992, the University of Georgia has awarded the Walter Barnard Hill/Hill Fellow Award to public service faculty whose work demonstrates distinguished achievement in the public service and outreach programs of the University of Georgia. Nominations for the 2026 Engaged Scholar Award are due to the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach by Wednesday, Sept. 26. One Engaged Scholar will be selected. The awardee receives a $5,000 faculty development grant from the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach to sustain current engaged scholar endeavors or to develop new ones. Permanent, full-time tenured associates or full professors are eligible for the award. Guidelines for the award can be found on the Public Service and Outreach website.

The awards will be presented at the Public Service and Outreach Annual Meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026, during Honors Week at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel.
