Ardoin named to endowed professorship
Scott Ardoin, a professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and associate dean for research and graduate education, was named the Connally Family Distinguished Professor of Literacy Education by the Board of Regents. Generously funded by a gift from an alumna, this professorship will provide Ardoin with the resources to expand his internationally recognized research to better understand the processes and behaviors associated with developing and assessing students’ comprehension skills.
deMarrais receives lifetime achievement award from AESA
Kathleen deMarrais, professor emerita in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration and Policy, is the recipient of the 2025 Taylor & Francis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Foundations of Education from the American Educational Studies Association (AESA).
Schmidt receives Outstanding Book Award from AECT
Matthew Schmidt, a professor in the Department of Workforce Education and Instructional Technology, received the Association for Educational Communications and Technology’s (AECT) Outstanding Book Award along with his colleagues. The award was given by the Design and Development Division of the AECT, the leading organization for learning, design, and technology.
