Kudos: Bhattacharya, Zhai named to inaugural AI Executive Committee

Usree Bhattacharya, an associate professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, and Xiaoming Zhai, an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies Education, have been appointed to the inaugural executive committee of UGA’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IAI).

Their selection followed a vote by IAI Faculty Fellows, who represent diverse colleges and departments across the University. The committee’s formation reflects the Institute’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic planning in AI research, teaching, and outreach. Both Bhattacharya and Zhai bring expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence and education, further highlighting the Mary Frances Early College of Education’s leadership in this growing field.
