Sami Yli-Piipari, an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, was quoted in Earth.com and Futurity articles about his recent study  on childhood health habits, which found that people’s fitness habits beginning as early as age 11 may affect their health in adulthood.

“Not only is this polarization happening, but it continues,” Yli-Piipari said. “As you grow up, you tend to stay in the same group of habits, meaning that if you are not active and you have a little problem with your weight, that will likely remain as you age.”

Graduate student places third runner-up in Miss America competition

Audrey Kittila, a graduate student in the College’s communication sciences and disorders program, placed third runner-up at the Miss America competition on Sunday, Sept. 7.  She was recently crowned Miss Georgia in June.
