Call for nominations: 2026 Advanced Leader Program

  • Application deadline: Monday, Oct. 20

The University of Georgia established the Advanced Leader Program (ALP) in 2022 to provide a select group of academic administrators the opportunity to build upon previous experiences and existing strengths as they learn from senior administrators, experts in leadership development, and peers. Fellows will expand their professional networks and gain a more nuanced understanding of effective leadership in higher education.

The program will begin in January 2026 and will run through December. A full description of the program, including application requirements, is presented on the ALP webpage. Nominations by deans and other senior administrators are welcomed, as are self-nominations. Faculty holding positions at the level of department head, academic program coordinator, director, assistant vice president, or above, are encouraged to apply. In addition, nominations of those who have experience in a titled leadership role in a professional organization related to their academic appointments are invited.

ALP is administered by the Office of Faculty Affairs as part of the leadership development opportunities from the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Application materials should be uploaded on or before Monday, Oct. 20 in a single PDF file via the online application. Those requesting a nomination letter from Dean Spangler should express interest by Monday, Oct. 13 to allow time for writing the letter.
