Reminder: Mandatory cybersecurity awareness training due Oct. 31

  • Deadline: Friday, Oct. 31

The state of Georgia requires all its employees, including student workers, to complete cybersecurity awareness training twice per year in April and October. This professionally developed training is conducted online through KnowBe4 and provides a comprehensive education on good cybersecurity practices.

The fall 2025 course, “2025 Your Role: Internet Security and You,” is now available and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

How to complete the training:

  • To complete the mandatory October training, log in to the KnowBe4 Portal with your UGA MyID and password.
  • Once on the training homepage, you should see the UGA logo near the upper left portion of the training window. A course named “2025 Your Role: Internet Security and You” will be available.
  • To advance through the training, click the “Next” button at the conclusion of each slide. At the end of the training, you will be prompted to take a short quiz. After completing the quiz, you will receive your score.
  • You will need to click the “Next” button to go to the “Congratulations” screen. There you will find the “Complete Training” button at the bottom center of the screen.
  • You must click the “Complete Training” button to record your participation. Once your training is complete, you can download a certificate of achievement if desired.

Through October, you may receive reminders about completing the training to your UGAMail. These automated reminders will come from Ben Myers at bmyers@uga.edu and will have the subject line “USG Mandatory Cybersecurity Awareness Training Due October 31, 2025.”

Faculty, staff, and student employees who have questions about the training should contact the EITS Help Desk at 706-542-3106.
