The Bienstar Research team invites you to an engaging and insightful presentation with Jennifer Merrifield, program manager of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program for the VA Northern California Health Care System. Merrifield oversees outpatient mental health services across 13 hospital locations, serving more than 105,000 patients and nearly 200 clinical staff, making her a key leader in one of the largest geographic areas in the VA system.

A graduate of the Mary Frances Early College of Education, Merrifield earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 2017. Her dissertation was titled “Resilience, Civic Engagement, Cultural Values, Perceived Discrimination and the Unique Mental Health Needs of DACA Eligible Mexican Immigrants.” Merrifield is a published author, therapist, advocate, consultant, and recognized leader in healthcare equality, clinical innovation, and national process improvement. In 2023, she received the Director’s Recognition Award for Clinical Frontline Staff.
