Welcome new staff members
Please join us in welcoming Kellie Templeman and Murphy Taber to the Mary Frances Early College of Education.
Kellie Templeman is the new director of assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement in the Office of Academic Programs. She comes to the College from UGA Libraries, where she most recently served as research data management coordinator. In that role, she supported federally funded research and open science by overseeing the campus repository and promoting best practices for data sharing and preservation.
Before joining the Libraries, Templeman was director of data and research for the Clarke County School District, overseeing districtwide data systems, reporting, analytics, and public dashboards that supported instructional improvement and strategic planning. She also previously worked in UGA’s Office of Institutional Research, where she helped lead efforts in data governance, reporting, and data literacy for faculty and staff.
Templeman earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Georgia, where her research explored how students’ confidence and self-regulated learning affect success in online courses. She also holds a master’s degree in applied developmental psychology from Clayton State University and undergraduate degrees in pharmaceutical sciences and biology.
In her new role, Templeman will lead assessment and continuous improvement efforts across the College of Education, helping ensure programs and student outcomes are supported by meaningful, high-quality data and evidence-based practices.
Murphy Taber is the new digital marketing strategist in the Marketing and Communications Office. He joins the College from Arkansas State University, where he served as the senior associate director of admissions. Murphy earned a B.S. in sport management from Arkansas State University. In his new position, Murphy will be responsible for developing engaging free and paid social media strategies for our social media channels. He will also collaborate with various units and departments in the College to identify ways to integrate social and paid media into their marketing and communication plans.
