Office cleanout reminder: Recycling and disposal resources

As you organize, clean, or prepare office spaces for transitions, please be mindful of how items are discarded. Small office trash receptacles are intended for routine daily waste and can quickly become overwhelmed by large cleanout projects. If you have a significant amount of trash to dispose of, please contact the custodian on your floor to request the large red trash container. Recyclable materials should be placed in the larger recycling bins located at the end of each hallway.

If you are clearing out books, please consider donating them before recycling. UGA’s gift book coordinator Jeanette Morgan, who can be reached at 706-542-0595, can meet with you, assist with boxing materials, and arrange for collection. Another excellent option is Books for Keeps, which accepts a variety of books, including textbooks, and uses proceeds from book sales to support its literacy programs. If donation is not feasible, books may be placed in the large recycling bins at the end of the hall.
