Register for fall 2026 New Leader Program by Aug. 20

The UGA Office of Faculty Affairs invites academic unit administrators to register for the 2026 New Leader Program. Participation is expected for department heads, school chairs, assistant deans, and associate deans who were appointed after September 2025 or who otherwise were unable to participate in their first year of appointment to their current leadership role. Directors and other academic leaders are encouraged to attend.

The New Leader Program introduces newly appointed unit administrators to UGA policies, offices, and systems. This cohort program is organized around half-day retreats, providing attendees with opportunities to strengthen leadership skills through expert panels and interactive discussions and activities. While we recognize that leaders’ schedules may not allow them to attend all sessions, the cohort model and relationship building across units during the sessions is a critical component of the program. Participants will gain the most benefit from attending all or most of the sessions. A detailed schedule is available on the Office of Faculty Affairs website.

Registration is requested by Thursday, Aug. 20. Please distribute this link to all new leaders under your supervision with clarity in the expectation for their participation.
