Call for proposals: AI Course Innovation Grants

The UGA Office of Instruction is accepting proposals for the new AI Across the Curriculum Course Innovation Grants. These grants will help faculty redesign undergraduate courses to include clear, measurable learning outcomes related to artificial intelligence (AI) in their disciplines.

The goal is to prepare UGA students to understand and evaluate AI and use it responsibly and effectively in their fields. Students will build AI knowledge and critical thinking skills, whether or not they use AI tools as part of the course.

Ten course redesign proposals will be selected. Each will receive a $2,000 Course Innovation Grant, which may be used as summer or supplemental salary, and support from two AI-trained peer learning assistants. Faculty will recruit the peer learning assistants (PLAs) through the existing PLA process, and selected students must meet all program requirements.

Priority will be given to required, high-enrollment, introductory, gateway, general education, and other undergraduate courses that serve students across majors or disciplines. Selected faculty will redesign at least one major assignment, assessment, activity, or course module to advance students’ AI literacy. Redesigned courses should be offered between spring and fall 2027.
