Register for UGA Graduate Mentoring Certificate fall 2026 sessions
The Graduate School Mentoring Certificate serves as a UGA faculty resource to build and develop effective mentoring relationships with students. Effective mentoring is one of the most powerful ways to support graduate student success—and it’s a skill that can be continually strengthened. The UGA Graduate School Mentoring Certificate Series offers faculty the tools, strategies, and resources to refine your mentoring approach, foster stronger relationships, and enhance student outcomes.
Through interactive sessions grounded in evidence-based practices (CIMER), faculty who complete the certificate will:
- Build skills to support mentees’ professional and personal growth
- Learn approaches for getting to know your mentee, effective communication, and fostering independence
- Create a personalized mentoring plan you can apply immediately
Sessions are each 90 minutes and offered throughout the year via Zoom. To support an engaging learning experience, each session is capped at 30 participants. We encourage early registration, as sessions may fill quickly. A waitlist will be maintained and actively monitored, with openings offered to waitlisted participants as space becomes available.
The first fall 2026 session, Effective Communication, is Thursday, Aug. 20. Register today to confirm your spot!
